Christ, It's Nearly Christmas!
I know I know. Cassandra has been a very bad blogger.
Revision has taken over every aspect of my life and I haven't been able to sit in my bed and eat cucumbers like every other human being enjoys doing (obviously!)
Halloween has already passed so I hope you all had fun either sitting at home or partying! I personally don't celebrate Halloween but I do love fancy dress. I changed my mind this year and went as a fail vampire (fail because my silly fangs refused to stick to my teeth)/Zombie Ariana Grande (All my bestie Spencer's idea)
^ Yes he did his makeup himself!
I will admit that I am a workaholic and sometimes I forget that breaks are vital. My friends are the ones that subtly remind me that I do need to take some time to relax now and then because if I don't, I temporarily turn into this soulless sleep deprived monster that snaps at every and anything. Seriously ask my housemate.
I could feel this beginning to happen again so I took the evening off, travelled back to London and strolled around Oxford Street to see some of the Christmas lights.
Isn't Christmas just the best holiday ever?! I feel like everyone is just so much happier during this season.
Nothing compares to sitting by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa, opening presents and being surrounded by the people you love.
Well maybe laying on a beach but this is London.
London never hesitates to switch from ghouls & pumpkins to festive cheer & mulled wine in under 48hrs. Clearly you can see how funny I find this in my face above.
Every Christmas my mother and I used to walk hand in hand around Oxford Street. Me being the outrageous little girl that I was, there was nothing more that I wanted to do other than to go running from store to store to see what I might receive from Father Christmas (depending if I'd been naughty or nice of course). We'd get our yearly Fortnum & Mason Christmas hamper, find gifts for our relatives here and abroad and when we were finally exhausted, she'd take me to the Selfridges Christmas display because she knew how much I loved looking at the lights. When we finally arrived home, I would blab to my little brother about how much of a better time I had. This would promptly follow with an intense squabble because he obviously had a better time playing his playstation. Siblings eh? I hardly go anymore. It still feels weird not being with her.
By chance, Abi & I ended up outside the display which happened to be Zodiac themed...
... Meaning this shot was essential since she's a Gemini. I'm obviously the statue wearing all black.
Kailia for a much needed catch up.
Seriously, all my friends could be models. It's hard being the awkward potato.
Kailia is thinking of starting a blog so keep your eyes peeled.
Awkward potatoes unite!
Just a note, You'll probably be seeing these boots a lot. I always say that every girl needs a pair of over the knees and I finally bought a suede heeled pair. They're really easy to dress up for a hot date or dress down for a casual brunch! You can find them here, here and here. Oh and here's where you can find the jeans and an alternative pair. I swear by the first!
Once she had finished goofing around and I had finished fangirling over her greatness I knew I had to take her to one of my favourite café's ever. If you're into places that are ideal for catching up over a big slice of cake and a hot drink or a group meal Caffé Concerto is the place for you.
That probably wasn't very convincing. Ok. How about this:
I knew you'd cave.
We went for the good girl option.
The waiters are quite the lookers too.
Couldn't take any sneaky pictures unfortunately as we were far too deep into conversation so you'll have to go see for yourselves! Maybe this skeleton will tickle your fancy?
Or better yet, your funny bone.
